Well-known illustrator Jon Whitcomb worked with Jane on many of her magazine stories; he became a close friend for life. Both he and his colleague, Brad Crandell, were — with photographer Grif Griffith —her beauty mentors and instrumental in her transformation into a “glamour girl.”
